Printing and Laminating

Now, what you need to do is print.  Depending on your printer and what Teslin you have purchased will make this part either really easy or damn hard.

If you have an Ink jet and you purchased ink jet teslin you should be fine.  Just make sure you print the color side of the Id on the right side of the Teslin since only one side has the special coating.  Now, let's say you have an inkjet but Regular teslin it is still possible to get okay results.  You just need to play around with the settings for each ID and their backs.  For example I have an Hp DeskJet 812c and I printed out a bunch of Id's great on Regular teslin.  How did I do this, well for my specific printer (after trial and error) I learned that the front of most of my Id's printed well when the settings were under Ink Jet Deluxe Heavyweight Paper (This is the setting, I was printing on Teslin though).  This printed the back and front extremely well compared to any other settings I tried.  Also, this may not work for printers that aren't HP since they would not use a black base for their inks.  If anyone has made a chart on their results for printing on regular teslin with an inkjet email me so that I can post charts for each printer type.

IF you have a Laser Printer than you are damn lucky.  This will create a perfect ID (as long as your laser printer is good).  Now if you are like the rest of us with an INK jet, you will need to mess around with the settings.  I am urging you though that it is definitely 100 times easier to work with INK JET Teslin in an Ink Jet printer.  You will not need to mess around with your settings nearly as much.

Line up the Front and Back
Before you print though, you will need to line up where your front and back because you are going to print on the same piece of teslin.  IF you have perforated teslin you will need to line it up as well using a slightly different method.  IF you do not care about price or amount of teslin that you use have Photoshop print in the middle of the page for both the front and the back (making sure that they are both the same size).  Cut it out and continue to the lamination section.
However, if you care about the amount of teslin that you use (you are cheap).  Then print the front on the exact top left corner (under printer options in Photoshop).  Then when you print the back, print in the exact top right.  IT is fairly simple just remember to line things up so that you don't print your back of your ID in the wrong place wasting valuable teslin.  Good luck, if you make any templates on where to place your ID front and backs etc. email me
